Atomos Ninja Phone
Atomos Ninja Phone
The Atomos Ninja Phone is a 10-bit video co-processor for smartphones and tablets, enabling recording from professional cameras via HDMI. Optimized for iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max with their OLED displays, it encodes HDMI signals to ProRes or H.265. Video is sent through USB-C output to the iPhone, where the A17 SoC processor decodes it and displays it on the iPhone screen, featuring a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG, with 11 stops of dynamic range and peak brightness of 1600 nits. ProRes videos can be stored as .mov files and/or transcoded to 10-bit H.265 for camera to cloud workflows or live streaming using the iPhone's 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
External iPhone accessories are supported via a separate USB-C port for microphones and other third-party devices. Power is supplied using NP series batteries, a battery eliminator, or a USB-C 5V/3A input, also charging the phone and connected accessories for longer operation.
The free Ninja Phone iPhone app simplifies control of the Ninja Phone and iPhone, ideal for social media creators shooting in 16:9 horizontal or 9:16 portrait mode. Available for iOS and iPadOS.
